Watch as this young girl defends her two dads against One Million Moms

An 11-year-old African-American girl by the name of Amaya Sheer is speaking out after her family was criticized by One Million Moms over an American Girl article covering Amaya and her two dads.

The American Girl story covers the Sheer family and their Comfort Cases charity that provides foster children with games, activities, books, and comforting materials to make their transition into foster care just a little easier.

One of Amaya’s fathers grew up in foster care so this initiative was especially important for him to take part in. No matter what the race or sexual orientation of these foster children was, he wanted to help them.

This all sounds so fantastic. Why the backlash then?

Well, One Million Moms has boycotted the article due to their strong beliefs in “traditional” marriage.

“We must remain diligent and stand up for biblical values and truth. Scripture says multiple times that homosexuality is wrong, and God will not tolerate this sinful nature. American Girl doesn’t highlight other sins in their magazine.” They state on their website in response to the article.

But when young Amaya, accompanied by her dads and her little brother Greyson, were interviewed on Good Day DC about the controversy, Amaya had the perfect response to those people who voicing their opinions where they don’t belong:

“This is none of your bussiness.”
