A customer entered a Mexican restaurant in Georgia recently and he made an unusual request that was immediately met by a selfless waiter.
The disabled man didn’t have any hands and he was hoping to find someone who could help him eat his meal.
The encounter occurred at Cinco de Mayo Mexican Grill in Douglasville on Sunday afternoon, right when server Alex Ruiz, 22, was working, and more than happy to help the man with his request.
The special moment was captured by one of Ruiz’s fellow servers, Crystal Figueroa. Soon after taking her photo she posted it on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
“He’s a great person,” Figuero, 24, whose father Caparino manages the restaurant, told TODAY about Ruiz.
“He’s always so nice, and the fact that he just came out of nowhere and helped a man he doesn’t even know have a meal says everything. That just shows the person that he is.”
The name of the man is unknown and the staff says he has never eaten at the restaurant in the past.
But Ruiz, who was not immediately available for comment on Monday, jumped at the chance to help.
“I just feel like people should see that there’s still good people out there,” Figueroa told TODAY. “It was just a happy moment.”
