Just like humans come in all different skin tones, shapes, and sizes, so do our feline friends. These feisty creatures are made unique from others of their kind by the type of fur they have, with some of them having very funky markings.
We're not just talking about the fur color. We're talking cats that look like they have eyebrows, tattoos, and other weird shapes all over their bodies in such a way that you can't help but think they might be photoshopped. Take a look!
This Cat Wears Its Heart On Its Face
This cat honestly looks like it has a heart sticker with cat features stuck to its face. The heart marking is just so unique and the best part is that the kitty has no idea how funny its head looks.
Is it a heart-shaped head or a normal round head? The world may never know. What we do know is that this kitty definitely wears its heart on its face for everyone to see; proof that cats do have a heart.
Halloween Must Be His Favorite Day Of The Year
The marking on this cat is trying to tell us one of two things. One, he is world's biggest fan of Halloween. Or, two, he is the grim reaper and is here to collect the souls of the lowly humans who have graciously adopted him.
Even though we hope it's the first, we'd bet money that our second hypothesis is correct. He just looks way too smug to be a fan of, well, anything.
If He Could Talk, It'd Be With A British Accent
We're going to put it on record that it is not fair that this cat is permanently fancy. Most people have to use a ridiculous amount of gel to make their mustaches curl perfectly like that.
Along with the coloring of his fur, he looks like he just stepped out for afternoon tea with the Queen. If cats could talk, this one would definitely be sporting a British accent while lifting one pinky in the air sipping tea.
This Cat That Could Be A Tiger
Most cats believe that they are bigger and fiercer than they actually are. This cat, on the other hand, doesn't have to worry about making people believe he's a tiger because he most certainly looks like one with those crazy stripe markings.
His paw extension, elongating his claws while lying down is also a bit menacing. We hope the kitty doesn't realize that he looks like a ferocious predator from the jungle. It might go to his head.
Four-Eyes
Hopefully, this cat didn't get made fun of for having four-eyes like those kids that wore glasses in the 90s. His markings are so odd we're having a hard time looking at his actual eyes.
It seems like he knows that no one is actually looking at him, too. His facial expression screams, "uh, Susan, my eyes are down here." At least having permanent alien eyes makes it so his humans never have to worry about getting him into a costume for Halloween!
Clay Fingerpainting Or Actual Markings
So, either this cat is extremely artistic and was able to paint what looks like tattoo bands, a face triangle, and paw prints on his arms and stomach, or he was born with the coolest markings ever.
Although we know these are his actual markings, we can't help but think he went to a pond and decided to fingerpaint on his fur with some wet clay. The orangey-brown color is almost identical to the mineral, after all!
A Permanent Cat Ear Headband
This sweet kitty seems to have been shopping in an eight-year-old's closet if that black cat ear headband is any indication. It's such a strange marking to have an entirely white face and then black ears and "sideburns." It makes the kitty look like they are forever wearing a fashion accessory.
Unfortunately, it is also making us wonder what the cat looks like without the black ears -- a very strange sight. To give you an idea, it looks like a floating fuzzy white head with green eyes.
Fur-ever Surprised
At first glance, this kitty looks to be very startled about something. Their human probably threw away the rest of the catnip or something. If you look again, it still looks like they're surprised. We're here to tell you that the little dark patch under his nose is actually fur and not the inside of its mouth!
Right?! You're probably the one in shock now. Our fuzzy friend here is in a permanent state of awe which his big eyes aren't helping temper down.
Cat Burglar
This human best lock up all their valuables because they have a cat burglar in the family! Yes, bad joke, but it is also completely true. This cat's strange markings have him sporting a black mask that is pretty similar to that of a masked thief.
We guess he kind of looks like one of the superheroes from The Incredibles, too. Only, he's a cat, so a burglar seems a bit more likely then him wanting to save innocent people.
Everything Is An Exclamation When This Cat Is Around!
How does one get the lucky draw of the lottery and wind up with an exclamation on their backside? And to further that question, how is it that it's a cat? They are literally one of the least excited animals that one can have as a pet.
They are sneaky and are most likely plotting their "within-the-home" home take invasion. Something that probably will result in casualties, if the cat has anything to say about it. We guess that's cause for excitement though. Well, at least on the cats part.
Someone Needs To Teach This Cat How-To Shave
It looks like someone woke up with a five o'clock shadow. We'd say that this fuzzball needs to be taught how to shave his fur but he may just look cute with the scruff. You wouldn't want to shave away his old man look, anyway. It's way too perfect of a look with his puckered-up mouth.
All he needs now is how coffee, bagel with catnip, and maybe a newspaper to tear up. Because let's face it, he's still a cat.
Who Says Only Hipsters Can Get Ankle Tats
Can we just say that, aside from the mustache cat, this is one of the more hipster cats out there? This white kitty literally has two heart-shaped tattoos on each of their front paw ankles. What would have been very cute in the earlier years of the 2000s now just makes this one a basic cat.
All she needs now is a pumpkin spice latte, a fall scarf, big sunglasses, and maybe a nice floppy hat for no reason other than "fashion."
The Kitten With The Grandma Hair
Of course, it's a kitten that is sporting the middle-part grandma hair. Note how, aside from its tail, there is literally nothing else that is black on this little feline. It's almost like a granny was reincarnated into this kitten in order to continue talking too loudly because they don't think anyone can hear them.
Or, in a cat's case, meow until people can't stand it anymore. It's okay though, you go on with your cat-self grandma.
A Permanent Monkey Hug
Even if no one gives this cat the number of hugs he deserves, it doesn't matter. He has a permanent companion that has his back at all times, literally. This kitty's funky marking is in the very distinct shape of a monkey, down to the right arm that is swung around to grab the top of the cat's head.
This is the type of friend everyone needs. Only, maybe with a real thing and not something that is already part of your body.
Kitler The Cat
Don't judge Kitler the cat just because he looks like one of the worst dictators in all of human history. It's not his fault that his markings came out looking like a Charlie Chaplin mustache and a weird comb-over.
Granted, his evil green eyes aren't really helping the overall aesthetic of the creature. But, again, maybe he can't help that he looks like he's about to tear its human limb from limb. Most likely enjoying the process.
Cat With A Bit Of Orange Trash Panda
This precious angel's tail didn't get the memo that the entire cat was supposed to be white as snow. Instead, the kitty looks like a weird mix between a ghost cat and an orange raccoon trash panda. It's an interesting combination that we can most definitely get behind.
These humans need to make sure that they always remember to bring this kitty inside. The trash pandas might mistake it as one of their own and take the kitty back to their lair.
"Call Me A Snowcat One More Time"
Are we the only ones that think this cat looks like the abominable snowman? Either that or a black cat who is desperately trying to make its way through a cloud. Obviously, failing and getting stuck. Poor thing.
Now he just looks like he wants to tear into whoever thought it was a good idea to take this picture. (It was a good idea.). Here's to hoping the abomi-cat can find a bit of humor in their situation.
This Cat Always Looks Distressed
Poor cat. No one should be subjected to looking distraught at all times. His human probably thinks he's the saddest kitty in all the land, thanks to those two pencil-thin 90s eyebrows he's sporting on top of his head.
Granted, he does look super cute with those markings on his all-white body. Well, minus the black tail. But, hey, something had to match his brows! It's called fashion, here, people, get with the program!
The Cinnamon Bun Cat
You know when something's so adorable that you could just gobble it up? This cat takes the expression to a whole new level. Once the kitten curls up, it's black and brown strips swirl like a cinnamon bun.
Technically speaking, if the cat has white fur it would be a more accurate depiction of the white frosting we all love so much. Evenso, the imagination fills in the blanks with little cutie. Perhaps the design is really a defense mechanism, hypnotizing neighborhood foxes and stopping them in their tracks.
The Shadow That Wouldn't Go Away
Shadows can cast interesting patterns on your skin, but they're always fading. In this cat's case, it has a forever shadow lingering on its back. We have to wonder if there's something supernatural going on here.
Perhaps its black cat friend passed, leaving a promise to always be with the cat wherever they went. Time went on and sure enough, the black cat appeared on this white cat's back like a guardian. Now it, literally, always has its back.
Be Still My Heart
It's one thing for a cat to have a patch of fur in the shape of a heart. But for that patch to be in the middle of its chest is too coincidental.
This cat looks like a superhero with a chest emblem. In this case its hero name would have to be something like "Heart Kitty." It's catchphrase would be something like, "The kitten who would put it's heart on the line to save yours."
The Kitten With Vitiligo
While this cat looks a bit like a marble, it likely gained its unique pattern from the condition vitiligo. The harmless phenomenon prevents melanin from forming in certain parts of the skin, resulting in lighter patches of skin in humans, and fur in animals.
Judging by the look of it, the most dangerous part of this cat's vitiligo is that it's now a prime target for Cruella De Vil. Then again, she seemed to be more of a dog person.
Checkerboard Cat
So we know that you've already seen the "two-faced" cat that was half black and half orange. However, this cat brings a whole new element to the uniquely-colored fur. This cat isn't half and half; it's more like a checkerboard.
It's face is broken up into quadrants. The first is black, second orange, third black, and fourth orange, moving clockwise around its face. It even has some white thrown into the mix. It's ancestors must be proud to have equal representation.
Batman Cat
Everything about this cat screams Batman. The most obvious Batman quality is its "mask," black fur covering only its ears and about half of its face. But then you have that grim look on its face.
The cat appears to be thinking "don't mess with me." Further exuding its brave-kitty vibe are its giant paws out in front of its chest, like a warning sign. We definitely want to get on this cat's bad side.
Spade Cat
This cat looks like it was born to frequent casinos and professional card game tournaments. We have to wonder if the owner shaved down it's body just to emphasize the white spade on its chest.
Another role for this cat would be as a magician's assistant. Can you imagine a magician asking if your card was a spade and pulling this cat out of its hat. That would be be even more impressive than the tired old bunny trick.
Coastal-Eyed Cat
The two colors of this cat's eyes are stunning enough. However, even more amazing is how it happens to look like the ocean water breaking on the shore.
The hazel side of each eye resembles the sand of the beach, while the blue side looks like the water. The symbollic value of these eyes are endless: ocean meeting land, fire battling ice, rain in the desert, the options are endless. We really do hope that the cat's owner is a poet.
Cat In A Kitten's Nose
This little kitten is adorable enough, but the little black mark on its nose is just precious. Then you look a little closer and realize, that black mark is in the shape of a cat.
You wouldn't think that such a small patch could take on such a clear outline of a cat. However, this marking goes to show that even the smallest characteristics can be profoundly unique. That's one trait we hope this cat never outgrows.
Don't Mess With The Sword
At first glance, you might miss it. But once you see it, you can't unsee it. We're referring to the sword pattern running down this cat's back and tail. This cat's pattern was interesting enough to look at.
It's far from the typical spots or stripes fur of many animals. However, then you see the sword and realize that this kitten is a samuria warrior in the making. And you thought that the idea of a kung fu panda was ridiculous.
Number One Cat
It would be hard not to develope a big head when you have the number one imprinted on your face. The darker fur on the cat's face outlines the white number one so it's impossible to not see.
Furthermore, the number is directly in between the cat's eyes. It looks like the cat was a champion in another life and got the number one tattooed on its face. By a trick of fate, the number stuck around in this life.
The Kitten With A Top Hat
As if fluffy, white kittens didn't look fancy enough, this one has a top hat on its head. The marking is an optical allusion since it's black fur is on a flat surface.
Somehow, the black patch exist just so that it almost appears to be a three-dimensional hat on the cat's head. Unfortunately, when it's not appropriate to keep you hat on, this cat is out of luck. It also can't do one of the best things you can do with a top hat: tip your hat.
Half Cat Half Squirrel
This cat has the image of a squirrel in the fur along its back. If that wasn't adorable enough, its white fur gives way to orange where the pattern is, making it a realistic squirrel tone.
Even better, the pattern leads perfectly down towards the cat's tail, so that it appears to be the tail of the squirrel. The tail is fluffy and long, just like that of the furry animal taking residence on this cat's back.
Half Cat, Half Bat
This cat's white patch is amazing enough just for the fact that it's in the shape of a bat with its wings open. However, it's even better when you realize that white bats actually exist.
On top of that, they're nocturnal just like they're black counterparts. That means that this black cats with a white patch is evoking an illustration of a white bat coming out at night to search for food. That's a Halloween cat if we've ever seen one.
The Arrow Cat
There's a lot going on in this image. For one, this cat is lying underneath a carboard box for not apparent reason. One the bright side, its happens to be in the perfect position to reveal the white arrow on its underbelly.
The arrow is unavoidable against the rest of the cat's black fur. What's also unavoidable is the fact that the arrow is pointy to the cat's behind. Every time it takes a trip to the litterbox it must get fooled into checking out the mess it just made.
The Cat With A Label
Just in case you forgot, or couldn't tell, this cat is a cat, as noted in its fur. Funnier yet, this cat technically is a kitten still.
It's like a teenager who got sick of being called a kid so they got the word "adult" tattooed on their forehead. It's not a kitten, alright. It's a cat. Like the expression goes, you can't hide who you are. It is written all over your very being.
This Cat That Could Be A Leopard
Speaking of crazy jungle cats, this kitty could be a leopard cub with the markings on his fur. The fact that they both have bright green eyes makes it all that creepier. No one wants to wake up to find a mini leopard wannabe sitting at the edge of their bed in the middle of the night.
Couldn't they have been born with, say, brown eyes? It's way less threatening of a color on a cat that looks like it could tear you apart.
A Cat Face On A Cat's Face
Similar to the last kitten, this one has who they are literally written on them. If anyone has any doubts, just look at the forehead. It's a cat face on a cat face. The marking reminds us of The Lion King when Simba has its head marked.
Later on, the monkey creates a similar marking as the one on this kitten's head to indicate that Simba is alive. For all we know, this kitten could be living the tale right this minute.
Harry Potter Kitty
At first glance, the mark on this kitten's forehead looks like any old zigzag. Then you recognize that it's an orange marking against black fur, making it similar to lightning at night.
Then you remember the Harry Potter franchise and realize that Harry wasn't the only one to survive a strike against Lord Voldemort, afterall. We hope that the cat owner is familiar with the famous stories, and that this cat's name is Harry Potter.
The Stray Cat With A Broken Heart
According to the Reddit post that presented this image, this cat is actually a stray. While all cats are equally profound, stray or not, it's an important detail to mention when looking at this photo.
If you notice, the cat has a patch of brown fur on its back in the shape of a heart. Sadly, a line of white severs the heart into two. It's as though the cat is evoking the heart ache it felt wandering the streets all alone.
The Cat With Dramatic Makeup
Not everyone can pull off the smokey-eye look as well at this cat. The black fur around its eyes is so fine that it appears to be eyeliner going all around the iris.
However, the dark fur really pops at the top of the eye, where the eyelids would be on a human. It's like this cat knew what it was doing when it grew black fur. If we didn't know better, we'd think musician Siouxsie Sioux was its owner.
