Thomas Kinkade’s art is incredibly quaint. His most brilliant pieces tend to feature stone cottages, and babbling brooks, and fields of pastel wildflowers.
Star Wars is the opposite of quaint. It’s chaotic, it’s dark and depressing, and it’s pure and unadulterated science fiction.
So what happens when you combine the two? That’s exactly what Jeff Bennett’s “Wars on Kinkade” series explores in awesome detail.
“He reportedly had habits of cursing and heckling other artists and performers, and enjoyed ritual territory marking through urination,” Fast Company explains of Kinkade’s reported nature.
The Los Angeles Times reported in 2006 that Kinkade once peed on a Winnie the Pooh figure at Disneyland, saying “This one’s for you, Walt.”
