8-year-old Landon Cunningham was nearly hit in the face by a bat during the Pirates-Braves game over the weekend.
Thankfully for Landon his dad’s brain quickly jumped into “dad mode” and saved the day.

The close call occurred when Pirates outfielder Danny Ortiz swung and missed in a spring training game in Brandenton, Florida.
Ortiz lost control of the bat and it flew quickly into the crowd.
Dad stuck out his left arm just in time and deflected away from his son’s head.
Like many kids these days his son was distracted by his phone and didn’t even notice the bat that was about to give him a face full of stitches.
