In today's news, we have a guy who's singlehandedly proven that love is alive and well because of the epic way he proposed to his girlfriend. Filmmaker, Lee Loechler, decided to be the cutest person alive when he proposed to his girlfriend, Stuthi David, at a screening of Sleeping Beauty (her favorite Disney film).
Loechler went above and beyond your typical on-the-beach proposal by enlisting the help of his animator friend, Kayla Coombs, to turn the classic into a proposal set-up for him. And you won't want to sleep through the results.
Coombs Made The Characters Look Like The Couple
It took her six months to do, but Coombs animated Aurora and Prince Philip for a 30-second clip so they looked like Loechler and David. When she and Loechler hacked the film they even replaced all the Prince's lovey-dovey sayings with medical jargon since David is a cardiologist. He told the princess he loved her with "all of my heart–all of its ventricles, atriums, and valves."
He Filled The Theater With Her Family And Friends
To really set the perfect stage, Loechler booked a theater for a private screening and called all of his and David's family and friends. Thankfully, David didn't notice her loved ones sitting in the audience until Loechler popped the question.
She Was Super Confused... Until She Wasn't
When David first noticed how different the iconic characters looked and acted she seemed super confused. She even turned to Loechler as if to ask him if he noticed the difference too. But as the clip kept playing she slowly realized what was going on...
He Prepped An Alternate Ending In Case She Said No
In the scene Coombs and Locheler hacked, Prince Philip proposes to the princess and then looks into the camera and tosses the ring box to Loechler, who freaking catches it like a superhero and proposes. If this wasn't enough, he even prepped an alternate ending where David says no (but obviously she said yes).
