Fisherman Dino Ferrari recently caught a massive Wels Catfish weighing 280-pounds (127 kg) and measuring 8 ft 9 in. (2.67 m) in length. The 280-pound behemoth is believed to be the largest of its kind ever captured with nothing more than a rod and reel.
The catch occurred on 19 February 2015 in the Po Delta, an area of the Po River, the longest river in Italy.
Speaking to GrindTV the fisherman said he was using artificial bait on the surface, and that it took 40 minutes to reel in the massive Wels Catfish.
This fish could feed many families for weeks.
