It seems like all we hear on the news these days are stories of police officers who are doing wrong. It’s easy to have a case of “mean world syndrome” because of shootings and other acts of violence that are caught on tape.
However, several Dutch police officers have gone viral on Facebook because of their awesome act of kindness.
After a woman was taken to the hospital with hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), two Dutch policemen of the Eindhoven Police Department stayed behind to prepare dinner for her five children.
The officers realized that the kids wouldn’t have anything to eat if they didn’t jump in and help, so they cooked them an entire meal and then stayed behind to do the dishes.
The photo of the officers went viral on Facebook and the Eindhoven Police thanked Facebook users for the positive response to the viral image, which has received over 95,000 likes.
A rough translation of the departments message said the police were “grateful” that a “small gesture” could be heartwarming for so many people.
