The service industry is no joke. It is hard work and, sometimes, servers need to lighten the mood with some funny and quirky pranks on their customers just to put a smile on their faces -- you want lemon in your water? Here are seven!
But, let's be honest, the customers most likely can't help but laugh along with these hilarious service industry folks.
When Pickles = The Destruction Of Cities
When this customer ordered their burger, they asked for no pickles or else they would "destroy cities." Clearly, they have a deep distaste for pickles. Anyway, the server decided to egg the customer on, giving them a side plate of three pickles with a list of cities they would like to see vanquished.
Sorry, Texas, it looks like you're on this server's list!
Hey, The Customer Did Ask For Lemon
Nothing says annoyed server like one who brings water full of lemons. Hey, it is not their fault the customer complained there wasn't a lemon added to their first glass!
At least, now, they will have nothing further to complain about since their server will clearly retaliate in a hysterical manner.
This Bartender Is NOT Messing Around
This bartender is not messing around. They probably had to work, ultimately missing an episode of Game of Thrones, even going as far as telling customers that if they speak of the show, they will be cut off for the night.
Here's to hoping it wasn't the series finale because, spoiler alert, the bartender didn't miss much.
This Server Was On Her Final Espresso-Spoon Straw
Being a server can't be easy, especially when it comes to rude, unruly, or just straight-up obnoxious customers. As seen by this note, the server was thankful for the one person who gave them a nice comment.
That being said, the detail about the espresso spoon is a bit suspect, and questions whether they have thought about this before.
"Nothing" Never Looked So Tasty
Kids have a way of being mood at times, especially if they don't feel like being somewhere. This young boy clearly doesn't want to be out to dinner with the family, and the server was well aware.
So, when he asked for "nothing" for dessert, they delivered just that -- a plate with "nothing" spelled out in delicious-looking chocolate!
Grumpy Cat Was Not Amused With These Customers
Servers deal with customers all day, and, sometimes, they can get a bit cranky by the end of their shift. And, rightfully so, having to make people happy and run around all day.
This server made their mood well-known to their customers by sketching an image of the iconic grumpy cat on their check, complete with a "Bye." The period really hits the message straight home.
Just Call Him The One-Trip Server
Honestly, give this server a raise! This man is carrying way more than any normal human should be able to in one trip. And all without dropping a plate, to boot!
Either they've been doing this literally their whole lives, or they are from another dimension. Either way, just call this man the one-trip server!
A Very Forward Approach To Asking For A Good TIp
When it comes to working in the service industry, waiters will do their best to get a great tip, even if that means coming off a bit strong. Take this person, for example.
They know what they want, and they have zero issue telling people that their service was amazing, and they clearly had a great time being there! Folks, tip this server because they are amazing.
Dad Joke Level: A Very "Small" Check
Nothing says funny server who deserves a massive tip like "out-dadding" a dad joke. In this instance, the customer, a father, asked for a small check, making a joke about the price.
The server retaliated with the joke by cutting the edges of the bill to literally make it a small check!
How Does One Wake A Sleeping Subway Worker?
On slow days, working in the service industry can be quite boring. Just take it from this guy who literally decided to take a nap in the middle of his shift because there was no one in his Subway.
At least he was kind enough to leave a sign telling customers to wake him if they needed anything! How thoughtful.
An Adult Sippy Cup For Those Who Knock Over OJ
This waiter had a great sense of humor after watching this guy spill his orange juice one too many times during brunch.
Instead of having to clean up after the clumsy customer more than once, they decided to give him a grown-up sippy cup, complete with a lid and bendy straw!
A One-Star Yelp Review Won't Get This Server Down
No restaurant wants a bad Yelp review, especially when it comes to then food quality or the wait staff. If they do, they tend to fix the issue right away. This place, on the other hand, had another idea.
Instead of fixing the issue, they embraced it! They literally made shirts with the one-star Yelp review, reviewer name included, and had their staff wear them!
Brian, Bryan, What's The Difference?
Baristas have the difficult job of putting names on the cups, helping them get the right drink to the correct patron. Well, sometimes the name isn't easy to spell, while other times the people think they're being helpful by saying something like, "my name is Brian, with a Y."
Well, this barista either took that way too literally or just didn't care, writing exactly what Brian with a Y told her to on his coffee.
It Was This Server's "Last Supper"
A final day at work is exciting for anyone. It means a new chapter is about to begin. This server, however, wasn't going to go out without a very memorable final meal.
Or, better yet, a final "Last Supper." They literally had their final customers reenact the iconic "Last Supper" painting!
Pacman Pancakes For The Win
Customers can't help but smile at some of the little things servers do to improve their days. In this case, the server decided to go above and beyond with their customer's pancake order.
Who wants a regular short stack when a mega-Pacman pancake, complete with tiny dollar pancakes, is thrown into the mix?
Falling Asleep On Tips After A Long Shift
Nothing says a server had a 12-hour-long shift quite like seeing them passed out on the billiards table inside the bar on top of their tips for the night. Hey, this lady undoubtedly deserves this bit of rest!
It can't be easy serving unruly bar-goers into the early hours of the morning. Girl, sleep as long as you need.
A Waiter With A Bright Idea
Tall people can probably relate to this server. According to the Reddit user, he kept hitting his head on the low-hanging lamp, making it annoying to take orders to whoever was sitting at that table.
Well, he had a bright idea; instead of getting continuously slapped in the head, he made the lamp into his own personal hat!
Just A Litte Coke
This photo tells a cautionary tale of being too literal with an overworked server. Asking for a little bit more Coke is only going to result in a bit of Coke in a to-go condiment container.
At least this server was kind enough to poke a hole in the lid and include a straw!
Unfortunate, But A Solid Way To Ask For Tips
Tips are pretty much how waiters earn money. So, when this server's show broke in the middle of their shift, a co-worker came up with a bright idea.
Not only did they secure the shoe with duct tape, but they wrote a solid message on top -- Tip Me For New Shoes!
Don't Mess With This Server!
Being a server is no easy task. Day in and day out, they are met with some rude and annoying customers who, unfortunately, they have to be kind to because "the customer is always right."
Well, just because of that mantra doesn't mean the server can't leave a not illustrating how awful they were to wait on!
