A Russian Cat Saves A Baby From Freezing
Americans only think we’ve been having a rough winter but temperatures in Russia average around just 5 degrees each year! Masha, a communal cat looked after by Obninsk residents saved the life of a baby left discarded in a cardboard box. Masha found the baby boy in an alleyway and climbed inside the box to cuddle and keep him warm. She even meowed to grab the attention of neighbor Irina Lavrova. “She is very placid and friendly, so when I heard her meowing, I thought that perhaps she had injured herself,” said Irina. “Normally she would have come and said hello to me. You can imagine my shock when I saw her lying in a box next to a baby.”
