Cop Adopts Opioid-Addicted Baby
An Albuquerque, New Mexico police officer responded to a call about a possible theft. When he got to the scene, he saw a young couple shooting up heroin outside the store. He also noticed that the woman was pregnant. After he reprimanded her, she broke down and explained that she dreamed of someone adopting her baby to save her from a life of sadness. So officer Ryan Holets did. He and his wife adopted the baby girl, whom they named Hope, from the homeless opioid-addicted woman. “I was led by God to take the chance,” Ryan said. “God brought us all together. I really don’t have any other way to explain it.”
