Former U.S. Air Force veteran Mark Cornell served his country faithfully for 18 years. Since leaving the Air Force he has spent the last 20 years without the ability to see his friends and family members. Cornell is legally blind, but can now see again. Thanks to a company called eSight, Mark is able to put on a pair of glasses that look like something Geordi La Forge would wear in Star Trek, and see his friends for the first time in two decades.
The specialized glasses feature a camera and advanced computing to create real-time video. The video can be enhanced and magnified for people suffering from vision impairment. The glasses are not cheap with a starting price of $15,000.
