Dalen’s Dream

When Dalen was eleven years old he began to experience vision problems and his mother soon rushed him to the doctor. Not long after, they received the life-changing news. Dalen was diagnosed with an optic pathway glioma. This kind of cancer is a brain tumor that is situated in an area that affects vision and typically results in vision loss. Dalen’s vision was also affected, and he went completely blind in his left and lost partial vision in his right eye.
Dalen continues his fight and he and his family members remain steadfast in their hope. Dalen, like many boys his age, is a big fan of superheroes. For his mom, Dalen is her own superhero. She says, “Dalen keeps fighting no matter what and I’m so happy to be his mother.”
