Magical Mikayla

After 10-year-old Mikayla’s mom noticed that her daughter seemed to be bothered by an array of strange symptoms, she quickly took her to the doctor. It was soon discovered that she had a pediatric brain tumor. After monitoring the tumor for a time, Mikayla’s doctors recommended proton therapy which is a form of radiation.
This type of radiation is supposed to be more precise without affecting surrounding areas of the body. This is said to be particularly important when it comes to kids whose tiny bodies are still growing. Luckily, Mikayla responded well to treatments with minimal side effects. Although they faced a lengthy battle, as Mikayla’s dad Demetrius said, “We’re a team. We’re in this together.”
