Hailey Tamagno was only two and a half years old when she was first diagnosed with cancer. She originally had pain in her leg and started to exhibit a limp. Hailey’s mom took her to the doctor to have blood work and they ended up getting the news no one wants. Missy said,“Her pediatrician called me late Wednesday night, like 8:30 p.m., which was unusual. He said the results were somewhat abnormal and said we should have more testing done the next day.”

Hailey was diagnosed with leukemia, but luckily she was diagnosed extremely early. Hailey’s form of leukemia is called acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), which is the most common form of cancer in children. Hailey responded well to treatment, and due to a combination of early detection and treatment, she is now cancer free. Four-year-old Hailey is now a happy and healthy preschool student.

The next brave kid is now an ambassador for other children battling cancer!
