Zach Taught Us About Life

Zach Sobiech was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, or brain cancer, when he was 14 years old. He endured 10 surgeries and 10 rounds of grueling chemotherapy throughout his treatment. Zach was a talented musician and soon threw himself into music to cope with the difficulties of dealing with cancer. Sadly, when Zach was 17 he was told he only had one year to live.
Zach recorded an original song about his cancer battle called “Clouds” which he uploaded to YouTube. It went viral quickly gaining millions of views and also learning about Zach’s story. Rainn Wilson (Dwight from The Office) has a YouTube channel promoting beautiful human-interest stories and produced a documentary on Zach called “My Last Days” which gave a look into the life of the amazing young man. Zach passed away in 2013, at just 18 years old. There is currently a movie in production about his life.
