This impressive service dog isn’t helping a blind person or looking out for upcoming seizures in their owner.
Instead, this big shaggy friend watches over an autistic boy who might run into the street as he plays or run into other possible troubles.
As the young boy plays in their front yard the shaggy dog stays right behind him, heading him off at the pass if he starts running too close to the street.
This little boy has a ton of energy, probably too much for the average adult to keep up with for long periods of time. But his canine friend has no problem staying by his side.
Sheepdogs and other herding dogs are bred to herd sheep or other animals, so they naturally tend to corral animals, other dogs, or even kids!
While the dog stays close to the boy, he doesn’t impede on his playtime.
Someone off camera questions if the dog might accidentally knock the boy onto the cement while protecting him. Compared to running out into the street and getting hit by a car, that seems like a small possible price to pay.
