Twenty-six-year-old Rafael Trevino used to be very close with Pearl and her two children. After Pearl had told Rafael about her struggles to afford a place to stay and provide for her two children, Rafael did something amazing.
Rafael gave Pearl and her kids one of his empty apartments… rent free. The only condition was that Pearl was to go back to school and provide for her children.
Even after 15 months of Pearl begging Rafael to allow her to pay him a small rental fee every month, Rafael refused and Pearl continued to live rent free while she took online courses to earn her degree.
