Robotics company Boston Dynamics, now part of Google, has developed ‘Spot’, the world’s most advanced four-legged robot. Spot can navigate hallways, run up and down hills, and even get kicked while maintaining his balance.
Even if he trips spot can recover without falling down.
The Boston Dynamics video notes, “Spot is a four-legged robot designed for indoor and outdoor operation. It is electrically powered and hydraulically actuated. Spot has a sensor head that helps it navigate and negotiate rough terrain. Spot weighs about 160 lbs.”
Spot is the younger and much smaller brother of BigDog, an existing robot model by Boston Dynamics, which also builds prototype warrior robots.
