Filmmaker Dave Meinert rescued Pegasus, a 4-week-old Great Dane puppy with health problems, from a backyard puppy mill. Meinert wasn’t sure if Pegasus would survive, so he took the time to document what could have been their short time together.

Her littermates were deformed or died because of their poor treatment at the puppy mill.
Dave spent hours capturing their time together in film and photographs.
Five months into the project and Pegasus has grown into full grown Great Dane.
Meinart told the Fast Company, “Rescuing her was a way for me to be sure she’d be looked after. For me, she had already been born—nothing was going to change that. By rescuing her, at least I could be certain that she wouldn’t be discarded.”
The Great Dane and his human partner are still taking adventures together.
