Siblings rivalries are normal, even among pets. While dogs and cats are known for messing with one another, you may be surprised to see pigs, hamsters, or birds having goofy interactions with other animals in the house. From sitting on their pet sibling to giving them the stink-eye, these furry friends have hilarious ways of expressing their love-hate relationship with their fellow housemates. Get ready to chuckle at the silly rivalries of adorable pet siblings.
The Puppy Who Wanted A Pony Ride
Though cats and dogs can be rather aggressive when they're strangers, those who are raised together have a uniquely adorable way of coexisting. This puppy is blissfully unaware that his cat sibling could pose a real threat.
Even the cat has caved to the naive puppy, letting it sit on her back without attacking. Instead, she calmly poses there and glares at the owner. It's as if she's saying, "Don't just take a photo. Get this thing off of me!"
Casing The New Guy
Cats are famous for their sneakiness, which is evident in this hilarious photo. To the right, you have an innocent puppy, smiling at its owner without a care in the world. Little does he know that two curious cats are casing him.
The black and white cat is in the lead, leaning forward at though to sniff out the new pet. Staggered behind is a grey cat, peeking its head out to make sure this puppy isn't a threat to the sanity of the household.
This Is MY Cat!
This adorable dog isn't trying to attack his cat sibling but rather wants to possess her. The dog is cradling the cat like his most prized treasure, as though he's deliberately preventing her from getting away.
The cat doesn't seem to mind her sibling's overbearing hold. Instead, she's loving her position as the little spoon and has her eyes closed and paw resting on her cozy housemate. These adorable animals aren't so much rivals as they are two peas in a pod.
The Curious Piglet
This little piggy didn't go to the market, she went straight up to her giant dog siblings. The canine's face is as big as the piglet's entire body, but the innocent little animal isn't afraid at all.
The dog, on the other hand, doesn't seem too annoyed at the pig sniffing his ear. Or is she nibbling? Either way, we're impressed with the patience of this lazy dog. He barely has a reaction to his tiny sibling.
The Cat On The Dog Cone
Dogs who have to wear a cone already have enough to deal with without a cat standing on their face. Yet, this canine doesn't seem to mind his feline housemate perching on his conehead.
Instead, the dog is relaxed as ever, lounging on the couch. These pets are comfortable enough with one another that the cat isn't afraid to mess with the dog, and the dog isn't threatened by the cat. The innocent rivalry is adorable to witness.
An Uncomfortable Snuggle
These pet siblings seem to have a unique way of interacting. While it's adorable that the dog is trying to snuggle up to her cat companion, we can't tell if the feline returns the feeling.
The cat's eyes are wide and he's sticking his tongue out. Judging by that facial expression and the fact the cat's paw is holding the dog's face, we would guess he isn't too thrilled about the overzealous pooch not understanding the meaning of personal space.
The Look Of Fear
We have to point out how hilariously ironic it is that a large dog is looking at a tiny rodent with a look of fear. His wide-eyed gaze makes it seem like the canine has never seen a hamster in its life.
Imagine what the hamster is thinking as it looks into the surprised eyes of this giant dog. It seems oddly comfortable being held that close to the mouth of a creature 100 times its size.
The Cat Seat
This dog is clearly the jokester of the household. She's unabashedly sitting on her cat sibling as though it's her own personal chair. The dog is even sitting upright like a human would so that her rear end is directly on the cat's shoulder and midsection.
As hilarious as this sight is to see, we would expect the feline to retaliate with claws drawn. Instead, he doesn't seem to mind being treating like a couch. That cat must have a great sense of humor.
This Dog Is Not Amused
This cat seems to have been testing her limits with her dog sibling. She's leaning on the dog as though to intentionally invade his personal space. The feline definitely is aware of what she's doing, because she's looking back at the dog as though to interpret his reaction.
The dog clearly isn't amused by his sibling cat's decision to push his boundaries. While he isn't retaliating physically, the canine is overtly glaring at the camera.
The Crazy Cat And The Sleepy Pup
This cat looks like she's screaming over the new puppy in her house. Baring her fangs, the feline's eyes are wide as she meows in protest. Meanwhile, the puppy is laying in the background with a look of innocence on its face.
It's hilarious how this feline's angry outburst doesn't faze the little canine in the least. We would guess that this wasn't the first time the cat was filled with rage. It's as though the puppy has grown used to his housemate's rampant disapproval.
The Stare-Off
This dog's eyes are so wide that you can see the entire whites around his pupil! He definitely seems alert as he gazes into the eyes of his cat sibling. On the other hand, the cat seems comfortable as ever from her high and mighty position on the couch.
Though the cat and dog don't seem like they're about to lurch at one another, there's clearly some tension between the two. That, or they're innocently having a staring contest.
Fighting For Attention
It's heart-melting enough to see your pet staring at you through the window, let alone four pets of various species! To the far left is a kitten with impeccable balance, standing on her hind legs with arms stretched wide.
Next is a dog who seems to be staring at the metal bar rather than actually looking through the glass of the window. To the end are two chickens perched on the window sill for a peek inside. It's as though they're having a contest to see who can get their owner's attention first.
The Cat-Dog Jigsaw Puzzle
It's adorable to see a cat and dog that are so comfortable with one another that they can snuggle. That being said, we're not so sure this cat necessarily loves being her dog sibling's headrest.
If you look closely at her eyes, they are a little wide as though she's mildly concerned about the weight being exerted onto her neck. On the other hand, the dog is wearing a sweet expression that tells us he's a lover, not a fighter.
The Dog With A Love Of Cat Fur
This itty-bitty dog is so tiny that when he stands on his hind legs, he still isn't as tall as his cat sibling. Rather than being intimidated by the feline, the Chihuahua went head-first into her fur!
You can tell by his wagging tail that this dog loves cat fur. That, or he just really wants to be close to his feline housemate. Meanwhile, the cat's wearing an indiscernible facial expression. Being that she hasn't pawed the little pup away, we'd bet she doesn't mind the affection.
This Couch Belongs To The Cat
This cat clearly doesn't appreciate his dog sibling sitting on his couch. The feline is gazing at his owner with furrowed eyebrows and a look of disapproval. It's as though he's saying, "How dare you allow this canine to infiltrate my territory!"
We have to wonder if the dog can feel her housemate's animosity and if that's why she's curled up in a ball and facing the opposite direction. It like she's giving the cat the cold shoulder, and he's not having it.
Anything For The Kitten
This selfless dog has given up her cushy bed so that her teeny-tiny cat sibling can have it all to himself. The sweet canine is even laying on the floor next to the kitten so he doesn't feel alone.
The kitten takes up such a small amount of room on the bed that both animals could probably fit on it. Still, the feline is getting the royal treatment from his canine sibling. It's adorable to see such a small cat on a giant dog bed.
Only The Cat Gets A Bed
This large, round bed is clearly for dogs. Yet, it's the cat who gets to lounge on the big, cushy surface. Meanwhile, not one, but two dogs are sleeping on the floor right next to the bed that should be theirs.
It's evident by this picture alone who wears the pants in this household. This cat is so spoiled that she claimed ownership over something that isn't hers. Lucky for her, she has two easygoing dog siblings.
Happy Dog, Angry Cat
The same way that human siblings can become jealous when their parent gives one child more attention than the other, pets too can covet their owner's affection. This cat is a perfect example.
As soon as this feline looked over to see their owner petting only the dog, he looked back at the camera in anger. The cat's displeased facial expression is a stark contrast to that of the dog's, who is happy with the love and affection.
Swapping Beds
We wonder whose idea it was to swap beds. Our guess is that this little kitten decided to curl up on a bed that wasn't his, leaving only the tiny cat bed for his dog sibling.
The sweet pooch doesn't seem to mind curling up on the cat bed, even though his bottom and his front paws are hanging out. The best part is that the dog bed that this spoiled kitty is laying on reads "posh" and has a crown sewn into it.
The Cat Mistook His Bed For Hers
This little kitty opted for the dog bed which looks a lot like hers, only much larger. We would guess that she wanted more cushion to rest her itty-bitty body in, plus the dog bed comes with a blanket!
On the other hand, the canine doesn't look too impressed. He's laying half on the cat bed and half off, and looking up at the owner with puppy eyes as though to ask for his spot back.
A Dog Wishing His Cat Goodnight
This adorable cat looks comfortable as can be lying on her back with her paws in the air. It's no wonder her dog sibling wanted to get in on the coziness. He stuck his face into the soft cat bed and took up about half the space.
The dog is so giant that most of his body is still on the hardwood floor. It's hard to tell if the feline was okay with her canine housemate overtaking her space, but it at least shows that they've grown accustomed to one another.
One Of These Things Is Not Like The Other
We're beginning to think that housecats have a superiority complex. Both of these cats are lying on dog beds. Meanwhile, a canine is stuck with a tiny cat bed that he can barely fit into.
The hilarious thing is that both of the cats are looking at the dog as though they are well aware of how absurd their sleeping arrangement is. They could have at least shared a dog bed, but they're much too posh for that.
Playing Dead
Some owners teach their dog to play dead. In this case, it's the cat who's commanding the dog to play dead. The canine has his paws up, eyes wide, and tongue out while the feline is perched atop like the winner of the battle.
The cat is looking right at the dog, almost as though he's trying to discern whether or not the canine is truly playing around. Some siblings love to roughhouse, and this pair is no exception.
Matching Positions
This cat and dog seem oddly in sync. Though they've swapped beds, leaving the dog hanging off the tiny cat cushion, neither seems perturbed. It's like they've accepted their new arrangement and are getting on just fine.
Something about the way they're both curled up in a ball makes them seem all the more like siblings. Plus, the cat's fur matches that of the dog bed and vise versa, making them seem like two halves of the same whole.
This Dog Couldn't Fit In His Cat's Bed
We've seen quite a few cats stealing their dog sibling's bed. Typically, the dog will opt to squeeze into the cat bed to avoid a sibling confrontation. In this case, the kitten's itty-bitty bed tent would have been impossible for the canine to fit.
So instead, the giant dog laid out on the hardwood floors right in front of the cat bed. The selfless pooch didn't even try laying his head on some of the empty space of his own bed.
Forced To Sit Up Straight
This pet owner decided to make their dog and cat beds by lining a basket with soft blankets. As cute as that idea is, it presented a problem for this poor canine when his cat sibling decided to steal his bed.
Rather than being able to lie in the cat bed and let himself hang off the edges, the dog had no choice but to sit straight up like a human. He would have been better off lying on the tile floor.
Fighting For The Fireplace Seat
While we can't support cats stealing their dog siblings' beds, this feline had a fairly reasonable reason for doing so. The dog bed is in the best spot in the house, right in front of the fireplace!
We can just imagine all of the winter nights that this cat had to watch their dog housemate snuggled up on a plush bed right in front of a warm fire. This time, the feline is the one who gets to soak in the comfort.
This Dog Is Patiently Waiting For His Bed Back
This cat has such dark fur that she nearly blends in with the dark navy dog bed! Imagine if this giant dog went to lay in his bed and was startled by a pair of glowing eyes attached to a nearly-invisible body.
Rather than trying to demand his bed back, this good boy is sitting tall right next to the bed and looking at the owner. The cat is staring up, too, as if to challenge the owner to try and make her move.
The Look Of Concern
There's something about fluffy kittens that makes them look extra innocent. This one goes to show that looks can be deceiving. Cute as she may be, she is lying on a bed that isn't hers.
That being said, there is ample space on the bed where the dog could curl up next to his cat sibling. Judging by the look of concern on the canine's face, we have a feeling he wants the bed all to himself.
A Cat Bird-Mom
As surprising as it is to see cats and dogs bonding under one roof, it's perhaps more shocking to witness three birds perched on a feline's coat. The cat's auburn fur looks like a cushy nest holding these colorful chicks.
We wouldn't expect the cat to be so relaxed with her bird siblings lounging on her side. She could stand up and shake them off or paw them with claws out, but the cat took the high road and made peace with her fellow housemates.
