The suave animals are naturally light-footed and sneaky, especially when their fur blends into the background. These cats may not even know how well-hidden they are, but they look like masters of disguise. Whether they're blended into the sink, the throw blanket, or the dog's fur, these felines may take you a moment to spot. Exercise your attention to detail with these incredibly camouflaged cats.
Becoming One With Art
At first glance, this looks like an empty floor rug. The artistic design is so attention-grabbing that it's easy to overlook the cat lounging on the rug. It also doesn't help that the feline's fur is the same two shades as the rug.
If you look to the top left of the picture, you can see that a cat is curled up in the corner. The pet picked the perfect spot to blend in with the rug so you hardly notice it's there.
We Are One
It may seem odd to see a dog in an article about cats, but look a little closer and you'll see why this image is in here. The canine has a sleeping buddy on that chair.
This pet owner must be a sucker for white and brown fur patterns, because both the dog and the cat have near-identical coats. To top it off, they're in the same position, only the cat is curled up on top of the dog. How adorably mysterious.
One Way To Sneak In The Cat
This cat is so dark that you can hardly see it against the owner's black shirt. If you look very, very closely, you'll notice the cat's eyes right next to the couch cushion.
Another way to spot it is the tail hanging over the man's arm. Still, if we weren't looking for it, we'd have no idea the cat was there. We bet this cat owner could take it everywhere with him and no one would bat an eye.
The Cat Is The Hat
Considering there's a fur coat hanging right below this hat shelf, it's not far-fetched to mistake these curled up cats for fur hats. Plus, they are sandwiched between two other hats, as though they knew what they were doing.
It's like they're trying to emulate the shape of the hats just to throw off their owner. We can't imagine why else they would pick sleeping on a hard, crowded shelf over a comfy couch or bed.
Even The Dog Is Thrown Off
This is another one where it's easy to spot the dog but not the cat. If you look closely, though, you'll see that the black and white kitten is blending in with the dog's spots near its bottom.
The hilarious part is that even the canine seems thrown off. The dog is sitting upright as though it can feel something is off, but has yet to see the feline clinging to its very own derriere.
Two For One Snuggle Buddies
This white kitten looks positively adorable all snuggled up to a matching teddy bear. The best part is that the curl of the feline's body aligns just right with the teddy bear's arm. If it weren't for the cat's pink ears and paw, we may have missed it.
We could just imagine a little kid reaching for their teddy and realizing that there's a kitten on top of it! That'd be a great way to surprise a little one with a new pet.
Just The Right Angle
This cat is even more camouflaged because of the angle it's sitting in. You'd expect the feline to be lying horizontally, but this one decided to turn upright so it's leaned against one side of the couch.
The throw blanket has such similar shades and texture as the cat's fur that it'd be easy to miss it, especially from further away. At least the feline left enough room on the furniture so that it's less likely to get smooshed.
Look Twice
Before you get all riled up about how easy this cat is to spot, you should know that there are actually two felines in this photo. The one in the foreground is easy to notice, but look a little further back and you may jump out of your seat.
At the top right of the photo is another cat that's walking towards the camera. Without looking for it, you'd probably miss it because the feline's fur matches the hardwood floors so well.
Follow The White Cat's Gaze
This is another image that appears to feature just one cat, but actually has two felines in it. The one that immediately stands out is the white cat, but if you follow its gaze you may spot something.
The cat is walking towards another feline whose coat blends in nearly perfectly with the dirt it's lounging on top of. If it weren't for the cat that stands out, we might not have any clue where to look.

Fortunately, the person would have a big sigh of relief when they found that the questionable object was just an adorable feline they didn't see. Still, we'd probably invest in some slipcovers if we were this cat owner. That's an accident waiting to happen.
Blending In With Their Surroundings
Either it was near Halloween or this homeowner just loves the holiday because they have a pumpkin and black cat throw blanket on the couch. The trouble is that it makes it difficult to tell when their actual feline is sitting on the furniture.
The pet not only blends in, but is actually sitting right in front of one of the cats sewn into the blanket. It's almost like the animal brings a 3D element to the design.
The Basket Has Eyes
This homeowner must have had the daylights scared out of them when they went to pick up this basket on its side. The basket is deep enough that the black cat nearly disappears in it.
If it weren't for the cat's eyes, we'd have no idea there was anything in there! Imagine looking into an inanimate object and seeing eyes staring back at you! It's no wonder black cats are sometimes seen as superstitious beings.
That's How You Hide From The Vet!
This is one of those photos that you could stare at for an hour and still have no idea where the cat is. It looks like your standard vet's office until you look very closely at the sink.
Beneath the faucet, there's the very top of a cat's head poking out. It's like the feline leaped from the exam table to the sink and it spying on the vet to avoid the visit. That's one talented ninja cat.
Yin And Yang Cats
These cats match so well with their blankets that we wonder if the owner did that intentionally. The white cat is lying on a white blanket, but its outline is noticeable enough that it isn't hidden.
The black cat, on the other hand, practically disappears against the pitch dark blanket. The light skin of its pointy ears are the only thing preventing the blanket from looking like it has eyes. If the felines swapped spots, they'd look like a yin and yang sign.
Not A Stuffed Animal
This cat knows how to spy on its fellow housemates. At first glance, it looks like the bed is topped with nothing but stuffed animals. If you look closely, though, you can spot the cat's piercing eyes right in the middle of the photo.
The feline is positioned between stuffed animals so that the cat goes nearly unnoticed unless you're looking for it. We have a feeling that this pet didn't want to be found.
Stretching Out But Blending In
While some of the cats we've seen looked like they were trying to hide, this one seems like it wasn't even aware it was nearly invisible. The feline is stretched out as much as possible, but because it blends in with the rug it's hard to see the animal.
The cat's fur is a similar color to the rug, though the patterns are different. Still, the rug is shaggy enough to consume the pet so you barely notice it's there.
Don't Turn On The Sink
This isn't the first cat to curl up in the sink. Actually, many cat owners will tell you that felines love to feel surrounded and will often choose the bathroom sink as their spot of choice.
What makes this cat unique is how well it blends in with the sink. Its coat is a shade of white that's very similar to the countertops. The owner could easily walk past this cat to use the bathroom, noticing it only when it was time to wash their hands.
That's What You Get For Not Being Organized
We're fairly sure that just about any cat could have become camouflaged in this laundry mess. There are so many different shades of clothing and spots to hide in that it's practically begging for things to get lost.
This cat chose a spot next to the white basket and beneath some dark clothes. Since the feline has a dark coat, the shadows and draped-over fabric makes it hard to pinpoint the cat. That's all the more reason to get organized with your house chores.
What Are The Odds?
This cat's fur is so unique that the odds it would blend in with anything seem slim. At least, it seems that way until you see the flooring in this pet owner's house. What are the chances that the tile would mimic this cat's fur?
The black and tan speckling is nearly the same exact shade in both the floor and the feline. It's one thing to have a cat blend in with solid floors, but to match a pattern like this is downright incredible.
Good Thing The Cat Ears Stand Out
We have to wonder if this cat's owner was expecting it to become camouflaged when they bought this tower. It is topped with a fluffy black fabric that matches near perfectly with the pet's coat.
The feline is curled in such a tight ball that you can hardly tell it's on top of the tower. If it weren't for the cat's pointy ears sticking out against the bright wall in the background, the pet might not have been found.
Where Does The Cat End And The Rug Begin?
Unlike the other photos we've seen, this cat is easy to spot thanks to its dark snout, ears, and paw. The trouble comes when you try to figure out where the cat's body ends and the rug it's lying on begins.
This fluffy feline's coat matches so precisely with the rug that its entire body is practically invisible. That goodness the cat has some dark features or this owner would be searching for their pet endlessly.
We Promise, There's A Cat Here
This camouflage is so impressive that you may be convinced there isn't even a cat in the photo. That's because it's lying on a crinkled up piece of fabric that matches the feline's coat.
Not only do the colors blend, but also the jaggedness of the fabric makes it difficult to distinguish the outline of the cat. If you look closely at where the light from the window is hitting the fabric, that's when you can see the cat, whose fur is slightly darker than its surroundings.
Stripes On Stripes
This cat has a brown and striped coat that doesn't perfectly match the blanket it's lying on, but is similar enough to create a camouflage effect. If we were to walk into the room, it would probably take us a minute before we realized where the cat was.
They say that things are often hidden in plain sight, and that's certainly the case with this feline. The harder you searched, the easier it would be to miss the cat right in front of your eyes.
Don't Sit There!
There have been several black cats we've seen on this list because their dark fur easily blends in with fabrics and shadows. But this is the first black cat we've seen that was on a chair.
A chair is probably the worst place to be camouflaged because the little animal runs the risk of getting squished underneath someone's bottom. Fortunately, this cat's owner looked before plopping into their desk chair, and probably will every time they go to sit down now.
Is That Another Folded Blanket?
Atop this ottoman are some folded blankets that people can grab to snuggle up with. Another thing on the ottoman they could grab to snuggle up with is the cat, if they looked close enough to see it.
The feline is curled up next to one of the folded blankets in a way that makes it look like another folded blanket. As a result, it could easily be overlooked, even if the owner was looking all over the house for the cat.
The Worst Place To Cat Nap
First of all, this hallway doesn't get a ton of natural light from the window, so it's already an easy place for a black cat to hide. To top it off, the floors are a deep velvet carpet, so the cat's walking would be nearly silent and its fur blends right in.
The worst part, though, is that the cat decided to curl up at the top of the staircase! It's literally lying right in the middle of the top step where someone is bound to walk.
Following The Lines
This cat's fur may be much fluffier than the surrounding rug, but the colors are so similar that from afar you could easily miss it. What makes the feline blend in even more is the way it's lying.
The cat's body is at a diagonal angle so it lines up with the pattern of the carpet. It's like the pet was trying to blend in as much as possible, and it didn't do half a bad job.
Matching With Their Beds
This pet owner was just asking for trouble when they got their cats beds that match the color of their coats. Both felines fade into the background on their beds, though the black one does especially.
Then again, if the white and tan cat weren't half leaned onto the black cat's bed, we might have a harder time seeing it. At the very least, it would be difficult to spot these cats if you did a rushed glance of the room.
Careful While Making The Bed
This cat's fur might not be as vibrant as the yellow comforter on its owner's bed, but it certainly looks so in this photo. Since the blanket is wrapped around the cat, the color is reflecting onto its fur so that it looks even more camouflaged.
Fortunately, the owner caught onto this before making the bed. We can just imagine if they started tugging on the blanket, only to get spooked by the cat leaping out of nowhere.
How Did It Even Get Up There?
This cat managed to make it to the top of a pale dresser that nearly reaches the ceiling! Since the walls are a pale green, all of its surroundings are light enough to leave the white cat well camouflaged.
We have to wonder, first of all, how the feline even got up there. Secondly, why would it want to nap on a hard surface just below the ceiling? Perhaps it was trying to fool its owner.
