At first look the pattern in the water looks like a giant oil spill. Thankfully, the reality of the situation is environmentally friendly and rather beautiful.
According to Scripps Oceanography, the video features, “An aggregation of anchovy amassed near Scripps Pier at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego in La Jolla, Calif. on July 8, 2014.
The footage was captured by Scripps staff and underwater by Scripps graduate students Julia Fiedler, Sean Crosby and Bonnie Ludka.
