Former President Obama received notice that he was expected for jury duty in Chicago. Instead of attempting to sidestep the law, he gladly accepted $17.20 for each day of service required of him. Obama headed to Chicago on November 8, 2017, and appeared in the courthouse just like every other resident of the area. It’s probably no surprise that he wasn’t selected to serve. With a background in law and a civic-minded approach to politics, the 44th POTUS used the opportunity to remind all Americans that we need to do our part if we want our country to succeed. He even looks like he was having fun based on this picture taken by Joshua Lott.
