If you've ever traveled to your local garbage dump, you might have noticed a pile of tires off in the corner. Unfortunately, tires are constantly being found thrown away instead of being properly recycled.
Amarildo Silva saw this waste as an opportunity to repurpose these pieces of rubber and help stray animals in his community.
Amarildo Saw An Opportunity To Help The Environment
Amarildo Silva in a 23-year-old from Campina Grande, Brazil, and he so a chance to help out the stray animals he sees throughout the day. His town sees more stray pets than most cities, and he wanted to give them a comfy space to spend the night.
Amarildo Found A New Job Opportunity
Amarildo noticed many of these stray pets were curling up in used tires found around the city, and he wanted to add a little color and comfort to the city and these animals' lives. He was able to turn this hobby into a full-time job once his works of art took off.
He Put His Artistic Abilities To Good Use
Amarildo is so passionate about the project and is thrilled that his leap of faith allowed him to make these beds full-time. Silva mentioned that the best part about this endeavor is that it helps stray animals and is good for the environment.
He Lets His Creativity Flow Through These Beds
After making sure every tire is clean, Amarildo makes sure each bed has a burst of color and personalizes any bed he can. To really make the bed as comfortable as possible, he tops it off with a matching pillow and cushion to make every pet feel at home.
How It Became A Business
After selling his first couple of tires to coworkers, Silva started sharing his works with the community as well. People were quick to gravitate to the beds, and now Silva owns his own business making sustainable tire beds for animals of all shapes and sizes!
