A Japanese chin named Lulu is best friends with blizzard, a Saint Bernard. The moment Lulu met her new friend she immediately “adopted” him as her very own parent, “because she was too young to be on her own,” according to her owner.
At first, she would lay down on the dog’s back during walks but over a short period of time she grew comfortable enough to stand up during long walks.
“Blizzard is the most laid back dog, he is tolerant of everything,” said owner David Mazzarella. The owner then added: “Let’s just say Lulu wears the pants in the family, and Blizzard doesn’t have a mean bone in his body.”
Despite being much smaller than the 126 pound Blizzard, Lulu has always been the more dominant of the two dogs.“When Lulu is on Blizzard’s back in public there is usually a large group of people taking photos,” said Mazzarella.
“Never once has [Blizzard] growled at me and I can take a bone out of his mouth with my mouth…Whereas Lulu is just the opposite, she always gets her way with Blizzard.”
Their owner has managed to take some amazing photos of the pair’s unique relationship.
“When Lulu met Blizzard for the first time I think she adopted him as a parent”
“Her favorite place was on his back when he was laying down”
“When he stood up, she would jump around constantly to get on his back where she felt the most comfortable”
They are really an odd couple but also inseparable.

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better relationship among big and small dogs.
