Kylie Jenner is making good on her promise to donate $1 million during the first week of Season 17 of The Ellen Degeneres Show. Earlier this week she donated $750,000 to a women's empowerment organization. She continued the donations with another $250,000 on Thursday's episode.
Jenner surprised Ashley Almonte and her mother Mireya with a total of $250,000 during the episode. Mireya has been a first-grade teacher in New York for almost 20 years and often donates her personal money to help her students. Ashley recently dropped out of business school to help financially support her mom.
"I kind of resonated with your story because of how much you love your mom," Jenner said. "And I'm obsessed with my mom. I would do anything for my mom so I really love that about you."
Jenner gave each of them $100,000 to help with the financial pressures they're facing.
"I want you to be able to pay off your student loans," Jenner told Ashley. “I want you to be able to go back to college.”
Jenner also donated $50,000 to the school Mireya teaches at, which brought them both to tears.
"Thank you for hearing my voice," said Ashley.
