Since kids are still getting accustomed to social norms, they can sometimes say or do things that they have no idea are hilarious. The innocent little ones are merely being their authentic selves, but sometimes that's the funniest part. Whether it's stepping out in their favorite costume, making an outlandish facial expression, or responding to a homework question with the wit of a professional comedian, these children are effortlessly comical. Read on to see what a crack-up kids can be.
Not Like Her Baby Dolls
This adorable little girl just realized that human babies are a bit different than toy ones. She's wearing a worried expression as her mom helps her hold her new baby sister.
The Redditor wrote, "My daughter's reaction when holding her new baby sister. Much heavier than the dolls she practiced on. LOL." Indeed, no amount of doll training could have prepared her for holding a living child. At least she learned that lesson early in life!
Two Identity Crises At Once
The parent of these two kids must have a plethora of entertainment each day. The Redditor captioned this photo, "My daughter thought this was her. Bonus: My son in the background."
The little girl has such an uncanny resemblance to the child model in a photo frame that she assumed it was herself! If that identity crisis wasn't hilarious enough, her brother is kissing his own reflection in the background! These siblings have more in common than they know.
The Sidewalk Nap
It's not every day that you see a little kid lying facedown on the sidewalk. At first glance, we thought that this little girl had merely exhausted herself from the hard work of coloring with chalk.
Then we read the photo's caption: "Imagination Level 100. My 2-yr-old daughter drew a pillow with chalk, then laid down for a nap..." This may be one of the most innovative things we've seen a toddler do. It's naptime somewhere!
The Angry Self-Portrait
This drawing is clearly an image of a girl screaming at the top of her lungs in a grass field. The child psychologist in you may be wondering, what in the world would compel a child to draw such a thing?
Before you get concerned, rest assured that the worst thing this artist has to fret over is the weather. The parent explained on Reddit, "My daughter hates the sun and she drew me a picture of her yelling at the sun." That's passion.
An Honest Answer To An Honest Question
Some children don't feel they can be honest with their opinions the way adults can. That isn't the case with this child. When asked on a worksheet what she would do if she had the principle's job, this little girl wrote, "quit and get a job I'd enjoy."
Her proud parent shared the response on Reddit, saying, "Potentially the best answer my daughter has ever given on a worksheet." That's what we call supporting your child's dreams.
The Middle-Aged Toddler
At first, this seems like an innocent photo of a little girl bottle-feeding her baby sibling. The image takes on a whole new meaning after you read the caption, though: "My daughter looks like a mom that regrets all her life decisions."
Something about the way she's staring off into the distance with an ominous look on her face makes us agree with the parent. It's like there's an unhappy, middle-aged person trapped in the body of this toddler.
Because Only Superheroes Fight
You may be wondering why only one child is dressed like a superhero in this photo. The Redditor explains, "My son was invited to a birthday party to learn "superhero" moves. Aka jujitsu. He took it very seriously."
We love the idea that fighting is a job best left to the superheroes, and that this little boy wants to be one. If he does grow up to be a jujitsu master, we sincerely hope he continues to dress up like Spiderman.
The Most Literal Answer
This has got to be one of the cutest responses we've ever seen. The assignment asked the child to complete the sentence "My dog is a..." with either "hero," "companion," or "worker."
Instead, this kid circled the word "circle," which was meant to serve as a direction, not an option. They went on to explain it's "because he is round" and draw a picture of a heavy-set dog. The child was just trying to be literal!
The Warrior Baby
This baby may have just learned how to stand, but that's not keeping her off the sandbox battlefield! The Redditor wrote, "My daughter looks like she just destroyed an entire Sith army."
Indeed, the way she's holding a red and blue stick in either hand like lightsabers has us convinced she's ready for battle. Then you add in the fact she's covered head to toe in dirt and mud, and this baby looks like a warrior!
The Armchair That Grew Tiny Legs
This Redditor posted a picture of their son's favorite hide-and-go-seek spot. It's adorable how little kids can be so terrible at deception. This boy may think he's invisible, but we all know that chairs don't just grow tiny legs.
The best part is that there's a throw pillow sitting right above him! He could have used that to cover up his legs, and then he might really be hard to find. This way is much cuter, though.
Not Your Average Princess
In this day and age, little girls don't have as much pressure to act and behave like princesses. This image does a wonderful job of showing how not all girls are the same. The caption reads, "Little sister was invited to the 'princess party.' But she wanted to be a puppy."
Our hats are off to this girl for not giving a rip about fitting in with the others. In a line full of princesses, she rocked her puppy costume like a true independent.
The Odd Child
Some parents love to dress up their children in matching outfits, and this dad was no exception. Both of his daughters are donning a white and green striped dress and pick jackets.
The one difference? The younger girl has her jacket on backward and the hood lifted over her face. It's a good thing she has her dad to guide her through the parking lot so she can exercise her freedom to dress how she wants!
Naming Angles
This clever kid followed the directions on their worksheet and named each angle. The problem is that the student gave them human names, not mathematical ones. The obtuse angle is Sally, the acute one is Bob, and the right angle is Olivia.
While they technically did what was asked of them, we're fairly sure that the teacher won't see it that way. To be fair, the directions were a little vague, at least for an imaginative child like this one.
Taking A Walk In The Cat's Shoes
Compared to adults, kids are very close to the ground and take notice of things that become commonplace over time. This image is a perfect example of a baby's curiosity unfolding hilariously.
The Redditor wrote, "My niece discovered the cat door today." The little one propelled themself through the cat door so that their feet went straight up in the air. Hopefully, the baby wasn't stuck there for too long before being discovered by their aunt.
The Ladies' Man
This boy is learning all too soon that being a ladies' man comes with consequences. His parent wrote on Reddit, "My 6-year-old son had his first school dance tonight. Got caught giving roses to different girls."
The girl in the red dress has her hand on her hip and one sassy look on her face, and the one in pink has an open-mouthed look of surprise. Meanwhile, the boy is chatting up a third girl who seems flattered. Don't hate the player; hate the game.
Hiding In Plain Sight
This adorable little one has yet to learn the laws of physics. Sadly, hiding under a rug does not make you disappear into the floor. The Redditor explained, "My daughter trying to hide when shes supposed to be in bed."
It's one thing to hide in plain sight during an innocent game. It's another thing to do so while breaking the sacred rule of bedtime. With how cute this hiding spot is, how could you be mad?
Don't Mess With This Guy
At first glance, it seems like this kid was just messing around by dressing up in a onesie, sunglasses, gloves, and a cap. In actuality, he was taking himself very seriously. The Redditor captioned this photo, "The outfit my nephew wore to meet my boyfriend."
We have to admit, there's something intimidating about this oddly-dressed kid. Perhaps it's the serious expression on his face that convinces us this is no laughing matter. You have to love a kid who wants to protect his family.
Imagination Is The Answer
Though education relies on right and wrong answers, we have to admit that we love this kid's imagination. The question was which number is smaller, and they incorrectly circled 10 instead of 3.
When asked to show how they know this answer, they responded with a drawing of a rainbow. Though good grades are no laughing matter, this test fail is one for the books. We hope that this kid looks back on their response with pride later in life.
It All Starts With Thinking
As a kid, one of the most annoying things to see on a test is the phrase, "explain your answer." Of course, it's just as important to know how you got the answer as it is to know the answer, but sometimes that can be hard to put into words.
This kid succinctly stated exactly how they came to their conclusion. The responded, "Thinking," which technically is a correct response. After all, most things start with a thought.
Spidey-Senses
With great power comes great responsibility. Janile Gross shared this photo on Facebook after she asked her five-year-old to keep an eye on his little sister while Janile was serving out dinner. Janile peeked out of the kitchen to find that her son was taking his task very seriously.
This may not have been what the mom meant but at least he follows instructions. It also seems like this could be an accident waiting to happen, but that's a problem for another parent, right?
20/20 Vision
Sometimes your kid wants a princess tea party, other times they want to play video games, or in some cases, they want to play with... carrots? And look how proud he is of himself! How can you be upset at a face like that?
Twitter user Madison shared this picture of her cousin's son who can't really explain why the son chose to do it, but there are definitely worse things the boy could've done when left to his own devices.
Birthday Cake With A Twist
This girl asked for something a little different than most to celebrate her first double-digits birthday: a birthday 'cake' made of lasagna.
One Reddit user pointed out that regardless of how strange it might be, it has a lot more use than a regular birthday cake. "You telling me you want something I can reheat and feed you for the rest of the week?" Practical, delicious, and just what the birthday girl ordered. Happy 10th birthday kid!
A Star Is Born
Why did the hot dog turn down the chance to be in a major motion picture? None of the rolls were a good fit!
This little girl is not here to conform to the societal norms Disney has created for little girls. It was 'princess day' at dance class but rather than dressing up as Cinderella or Rapunzel, this girl showed up in a hot dog costume. Some kids were just born to stand out.
A Rocky Start To A Happy Ending
@R_tatas shared photos on Twitter of her aunt and uncle in a situation no parent expected. Apparently, the Twitter user's cousin Kaitlin ordered $300 worth of toys from Amazon without her parent's knowledge and was pretty proud of herself when they got delivered.
In the end, Kaitlin and her parents made the decision to donate all of the toys to the local children's hospital where Kaitlin herself stayed when she was ill as a baby. Seems like these parents knew what they were doing in the end!
Please Don't Interrupt Me
"As your son, I regret to inform you that I've missed my means of public transportation. I know you must be on a rollercoaster of emotions right now but rest assured, I've decided to stay home." Well, at least this boy was able to take on a leadership role and step up to make that difficult decision.
His older sister shared this letter on Twitter that her little brother wrote to her parents, and later updated the public that her mom did, in fact, let him stay home. Maybe he has a career as a writer in his future...
The Climber
A special breed of child, 'The Climber' is the kind of kid no one warns you about. You can only learn about them properly once you experience them. Maybe you were the climber and you put your parents through this situation, or you are the parent in the situation.
The man who seems to be the father looks like this is definitely not the first time they've been in this situation. Guess it's time to call mom!
Hit 'Em Where It Hurts
Stephanie Ortiz shared a photo on Twitter showing off the pure genius of her five-year-old. Ortiz came into the room to find her daughter had skillfully placed Legos around her chair to "keep everyone else away" because it was her turn on the computer.
She's resourceful, that's for sure. Nothing hurts more than unexpectedly stepping on a piece of Lego, and this little girl is taking full advantage of that.
Quality Control
Sometimes you raise a kid who is very in tune with her inner critic and you find yourself wondering how you ended up with Simon Cowell for a child. This little girl, for instance, apparently brings a checklist to any store she goes into and just makes random checkmarks on it. Shockingly, it makes people a little concerned and uncomfortable.
One Twitter user commented that she should go as Dolores Umbridge from Harry Potter for Halloween, and it's a genius idea.
She Got It From Her Mama
Kara McLoughlin tweeted out a series of photos of a pink inflatable suit that she bought with her mom's credit card without her mom knowing, and to no one's surprise, "she kinda got mad but it was worth it."
The real question is how much was it and where can we get one? The best part is the pure joy on Kara's face. How could her mom get mad at that? It's also fair to assume she probably paid her mom back for this one.
Not Very Apeeling
Ah yes, the scene of the crime. What seems to be a few overly-ripe bananas is actually the sign of a kid who is far too smart for us all and who has clearly mastered the art of being passive-aggressive. He'll make a great husband someday.
Victor shared this photo on Twitter explaining "my son got mad at me yesterday and opened all the bananas in the house." Talking about going bananas...
No Restrictions
Megan shared this photo of the 'snack' her daughter brought home with her when she sent her kids to the grocery store unsupervised to pick up snacks for themselves. Yes. That is a birthday cake.
The clear argument here is mom never specified what actually counts as a snack, so anything is fair game. She never said they couldn't get a birthday cake. No one on Twitter seemed to disagree with the daughter's decision.
Feeling Sluggish
Chris Wilson shared this photo of his daughters' latest backyard business with this explanation: "My daughters built a slug hospital and found 30+ 'patients' who are now escaping and nothing in the parenting books prepared me for this." Maybe they were at the hospital because they were feeling sluggish.
What do you do? Option 1: Walk away and pretend you never saw it happening. Option 2: Take all the slugs back to the hospital so that your daughters aren't heartbroken. It's Sophie's choice.
When Parents Remember Their Foolish Days
It's like when your cat brings you a present from outside to the backdoor, except much, much worse. Do you think he was specifically looking for unexploded ammunition or just digging for fun?
The Twitterer said there had been an ice cream truck previously parked right over the spot where he found the bomb - which was the original reason he was there - and seems to think it was better he found it than the adults running the truck, but his mom probably disagrees with that one.
Every Little Girl's Dream
Andrea shared photos on Twitter of her cousin's horror movie-themed birthday party and they quickly went viral. These photos left us wondering why this three-year-old had seen The Nun. Anyway, she clearly enjoyed it so it seems like maybe the 'why' behind it doesn't really matter...
Lucia reportedly had a Frozen themed party for her 2nd birthday, though that seems miles behind this one. They say children develop quickly when they're young but her parents probably didn't expect this.
