A healthy relationship can remain that way if you are willing to take the time to keep things fun and fresh.
While grand gestures are great from time to time, they can also be expensive and there’s no guarantee they will work.
One guy has figured out how to keep things fun by making small gestures that put a smile on his wife’s face, and every guy can learn something from the way he acts.
Wife, mother and author Brené Brown was reminded of this exact lesson when she got into her car and saw that something had been placed underneath her windshield wipers.
At first she thought it was a flyer and she nearly threw it away. Luckily she caught a glimpse of what it really was and had to share the moment with social media.
On her car was a note scribbled on a napkin that read “You are really cute. I am going 2-stepping tonight, if you would like to join me.” The admirer had then written in his phone number a request to “Call me.”

While Brené was flattered, she nearly threw the new away until she recognized the phone number on the napkin as her husband Steve’s.

He had gone out of his way to ask his wife out on a date in a simple way that really showed how much he cared for her.
Brené shared the scenario on social media, and left us all with this great piece of advice about marriage:
“A long time ago someone told me that a good marriage is not 50-50. A good marriage is having a partner who’s willing to show up with 80% when you only have 20% and who can count on you to do the same. I could NOT have the career and family I have without Steve.”
