When it comes to yard sales, one person's trash is another person's treasure. The trick is getting people interested in said "trash," and take it from these people, the more creative the sign, the better! From catchy signs to strange headless scarecrows, these sellers aren't messing around, bringing out all the stops when it comes to their yard sale signs.
The Sign That Says "I Know My Clientele"
This person knows exactly who their clientele is-- people who love to purchase other people's junk and, most likely, not use it in any way, shape, or form. That's fine, though, as long as the seller gets $1 for their antique ceramic figurine of an angel they got for a holiday gift years ago.
Hey, hopefully, the new owner will find a nice place to put that dust-covered figurine!
Well, Hopefully, Their Marriage Is Okay
Many people can probably relate to this sign, especially if they happen to be shopaholics. Well, take it from Isla Fisher's character in Confessions of a Shopaholic, friend, your husband is probably doing you a favor.
We'll even place a bet, saying that a lot of the items being sold at this particular yard sale still have tags! Hopefully, the marriage is still okay after this entire fiasco; the arrow through that one heart is very telling.
It's Very Hard To Miss This Creepy Yard Sale Sign
If this creepy scarecrow-style yard sale sign wasn't put up during October and Halloween, then the people hosting the yard sale are very suspect. While it's hard to miss the yard sale sign-headed man, it doesn't exactly scream "good experience."
Instead, it screams, "the house you're about to go to for this sale may or may not be haunted. We're not going to tell you, though; that's for you to find out on your own." Thanks, but no thanks.
Clearly, They Didn't End On Good Terms
The best thing about this sign is that she's not even giving her ex-boyfriend a chance to come and grab his stuff. She's just going right on ahead with a yard sale, telling her neighbors to come on along and take everything!
Hey, at least she'll get something out of what seemed to have been a pretty bad breakup. Why else would she create such a large sign? It's not because they ended on good terms, that's for sure!
There Is Such A Thing As TMI
There is a lot to unpack with this particular yard sale sign. The first thing being why would this person want people to know they are going to jail? That little tidbit of information would deter a lot of people from going to their house!
Secondly, they must have done something very bad and been sentenced to a long time in jail if they find a need to sell everything. Again, a huge deterrent for a lot of people!
Go Ahead And Treat Yo Self
Many people stop by yard sales for a single reason: to treat themselves to things they probably don't need. But, they're cheap and there, so, why not? These people understand the need to splurge a bit (even if that splurge is $2).
Their "Treat Yo Self" sign is perfect! Telling people that it's fine to come to their yard and buy up everything because they deserve it and should do something for themselves!
So, Is The Ex-Husband Selling The Wife?
While this yard sale sign is very funny, it is a bit confusing. Yes, the whole divorce thing is clear, but what isn't clear is what this person is actually selling. Is it a yard sale for the ex-wife, selling off her ex-husbands belongings?
Or, is the ex-husband literally selling his ex-wife in an "x-wife yard sale." These are the strange questions that keep people up at night. The thing is, the confusion would have us stopping to check it out.
Now, THAT Is A Genius Way To Get People To A Yard Sale
Honestly, these people are on to something. If there is one thing that will catch folks' attention, it's the prospect of free adult drinks. They might have cracked the code of getting a huge crowd to a garage sale with this sign!
Seriously, even if the place doesn't have free drinks, the sign alone will have people scoping out the area to see what is going on. These yard sale hosts probably made a killing from neighbors wandering around and picking up things they didn't know they needed.
Yes, Maybe We Will Go And See For Ourselves!
There might be more creative yard sale signs out there, but these people still had the bright idea of making people interested. Comparing their yard sale to an inexpensive department store most likely had people flocking to their yard.
And the fact that they thought of a department store makes us think they might have some pretty good "treasures" lying around, including some affordable furniture. It would definitely be something worth checking out!
This Kid Is Selling Everything He Owns
Clearly, this kid's parents weren't overly thrilled with them breaking their flat-screen TV. But, let's be honest, who would be happy in that situation? Their plan of attack is spot on, giving the kid a bit of tough love and making them pay for a replacement.
Well, this kid is going to be selling off literally everything they own! And then probably getting a summer job on top of that, too. Tough luck, kid.
Jedi Mind Tricks Are Definitely Going To Work
Never underestimate a Star Wars fan, especially when they start whipping out the Jedi mind tricks via yard sale signs. These people clearly mean business and assume everyone is weak-minded, as these tricks don't work on strong-willed people.
We're not sure if this sign should offend us or not! Because on the one hand, we're not weak-minded, but on the other hand, we kind of want to go to the yard sale and see what they have lying around.
This Is One Way To Get People To Church
Alright, so this church clearly knows what it's doing. Why put a normal sign up in front of the church when a whole lot of people don't pay attention to those signs anyway. Instead, they opted to build a strange chicken-man holding the sign.
It's very hard to miss, especially considering the things eyes are literally the size of the actual sign. Hey, the church probably saw a lot of new faces that day!
At Least They're All In It Together
It's kind of funny how the men in this friend group got together and decided that their wives need to put on a yard sale for themselves. Don't worry, though; none of their stuff will be included, just their wives.
The interesting part is that the wives didn't say "no." They unexpectedly teamed together and decided to host a yard sale as a group. But, don't worry, they're still letting everyone know why the yard sale is happening!
Grandma Clearly Didn't See The Sign
It's safe to say this grandchild did not get their grandma's approval before putting this particular garage sale sign up around the neighborhood! Also, what did grandma do to deserve being called psycho in public?
If it's because she was trying to feed her grandkid even though they kept complaining about being too full, then pretty much each grandparent is psycho! But they're psycho in the best and most loving way possible.
Why, Yes, Lionel Richie, It Is What We've Been Searching For
Okay, these people get major props for their garage sale sign creativity. Come on! Who else would think to print out a blue steel-posed picture of Lionel Richie's face and use his song "Hello" as a premise for their advertisement?
It's absolutely genius, and we'd head on over to that garage sale for the sole purpose of shaking the hand of whoever's idea it was to create such a wonderful masterpiece.
It's Very Hard Not To Look At This Sign
If it were ever possible for a sign to be cute, it would be this yard sale sign. Between the large eyes with different sized pupils to the penmanship and cute little green arrow, this sign gets a solid A+ for cuteness.
Seriously, it's hard to look away from this thing! Good on the people who created the sign because if we drove past it, we'd be pulling over to check out the garage sale. They probably have cute stuff!
All About Desperation
While there are definitely desperate people looking for cheap clothing, household items, and other knickknacks, we're not entirely sure what "desperate things" mean. Is this like a Toy Story situation, and the items in the yard sale need to be used, or else they'll get depressed?
Either way, people probably headed straight on over to this sale on the grounds of asking the people what they meant by their sign.
A Popular Meme Is Always A Good Option
If you're trying to grab people's attention, there's nothing better than a nicely placed meme. In this case, the "ERMAGERD!" girl is used in an expert fashion, letting people know that there is an exciting array of items waiting for them at the garage sale!
The best and most exciting part is that this sale isn't a one-day-only situation; it's going on from Thursday through Saturday! Talk about an ERMAGERD moment.
Kind Of Harsh, But It Does Drive The Point Home
So, using Mr. T as the base character for a yard sale sign is a bit out there. While the sign makes sense and everything, it might be a bit harsh for the regular yard sale-going folks who want to have a relaxing experience going through other people's trash.
Either way, it does drive the point across that if people pass up on the opportunity to go to this yard sale, they'll be sorry.
... Is This A Yard Sale Or An Obstacle Course?
This yard sale sign is a bit suspect. People don't tend to go to yard sales thinking they'll be in any sort of danger. Yet, this sign literally has a warning, telling people that they'll be shopping at their own risk!
They even go on to say that they're not responsible for any accidents. Um, what accidents could possibly happen while looking around a table of useless junk? Are there obstacle courses between each table or something?
