Alfonso Calderon Is Speaking Directly To Politicians

When Alfonso Cuaron was given four minutes to speak to the House Democratic Task Force on Gun Violence in May, he made the most of it. Speaking simply, he said, “let’s put America first and put the gun lobbies and the NRA second. I don’t understand why this is such a difficult conversation to have.”
After he spoke, U.S. Representative Frederica Wilson urged those on the task force to listen. She promised the room that no one is safe from gun violence. That statement couldn’t be more true for the survivors of Parkland and Santa Fe High School.
