Before 17 people died at Marjory Stoneman Douglass High School, senior Chris Grady was planning to join the army. His priorities have changed since, and now he plans to work with March for our Lives to improve youth voter turnout.
The decision to un-enlist in the army was easy. He realized the fight going on in the United States was more important than the one overseas. Grady says, “I made a commitment to this country that I take seriously, but how can I commit to protect people abroad when they’re getting shot in their classrooms at home?”
