As a young teen growing up in the 1990s I would regularly get Hanson’s “MMMbop” stuck in my head, much to my own chagrin.
The melody is catching which creates a certain earworm you can’t escape, even if you hate the song.
One thing that never made a ton of sense to me was the choice in words used for the song. Perhaps that’s because they were meant to be sung way back in the 1950s.
The awesome team at Postmodern Jukebox have created a doo-wop rendition of the song.
Hanson has admitted that there have not been many good covers of their hit song over the years — I have a feeling this rendition will change their minds.
