Want To Get Out Of A Speeding Ticket? Solve A Rubik’s Cube In One Second

On December 5 around 3am YouTube user Steven Brundage was pulled over by police for speeding. A few minutes later he was let out of a ticket thanks to his amazing Rubik’s Cube skills and his work as a magician.

Steven was pulled over for doing 42 in a 30 MPH zone. He told police he was returning home from a Holiday Party in NYC. When they asked him why there were a bunch of cards in his car, he told police he was a magician.

The officer that was speaking to Steven asked to see a magic trick and he was happy to oblige. Steven started by solving a Rubik’s Cube first in 20 seconds, and then in just one second. The magician then mixed up the Rubik’s Cube and threw it behind his back, catching it in the same hand he threw with, and alas, it was solved, in one second flat.

In his YouTube video description Steven says, “I’m glad to say I left without a ticket.”

The video was uploaded on December 6 and in just eight days it has racked up more than 1.8 million views and 3,186  up votes.

A 3AM ticket for speeding in NYC could have ended a lot different — perhaps it is time that I learn some really cool magic tricks to get out of future tickets.
