Saving a single animal might not sound like the most heroic action a person can take — but sometimes people go to extreme lengths to make sure an animals life is valued the same as a humans.
The perfect example of going above and beyond to save an animal is eleven-year-old Hamdü Sean Bilgin. The young woman recently found herself in an unexpected predicament when she discovered one of her farm animals in labor.
Instead of leaving the mother goat and her kid to fend for themselves, Bilgin and her dog Tomi came to their escue.
Bilgin lives in a small village outside of Rize, Turkey. Her family owns a small goat farm where they milk the goats for money.
Belgin’s dog, Tomi, is always by her side as they share goat herding responsibilities.
During a regular round of herding the young lady found one of her goats in labor on a snowy hillside.
Because the goats were so far from home, she believed the best course of action was to carry the weak mother and baby back to the farm.
“After the goat gave birth, I led the rest of the herd back to the farm,” said Bilgin. “Then I grabbed two backpacks from the house and went back to the goat and her baby with Tomi.”
