A father-and-son team in southeastern China are making $160,000 per year by turning scrap car parts into giant Transformer sculptures. The Transformers franchise is hugely popular in China which led farmer Yu Zhilin to use his background in fine arts to create the robots with his son Lu Yingyun.
The statues started out pretty small, but eventually transformed (pun totally intended) into giant sculptures of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee
The two men create the Transformer sculptures in a makeshift workshop.
Their sculptures are purchased and displayed at malls and other locations all throughout China. Apparently this is a big industry in the country with other artists following the same path to success.
The start of every project looks like this.
There is a lot of welding required to create each sculpture.
Eventually The Sculptures Start To Form The Transformer Look.
Special Effects Are Added To the Sculptures.
Optimus Prime’s Head Before Completion.
The Father/Son team Work ON Every Aspect OF THeir Projects Together.
Look At the Amazing Final Project!
They Also Work ON Smaller Sculptures.
But Honestly the Scale Of Their Biggest Creations Is Just Amazing To Look At.
