Artist Chris Beetow creates cartoon versions of pets, but he doesn’t just examine a dog and then copy their look. Instead, he examines their personalities and quirks, and then he creates a portrait that matches the uniqueness of each pet.
Before he begins each drawing, Beetow will have a sit-down with the pet’s owner to get a sense of the pet’s personality. He then illustrates a cartoony and playful version that perfectly captures the pet’s essence.
If a dog is silly, it gets a silly portrait. If a cat is serious and a bit of a loner, its character is drawn to match their personality.
Some owners laugh at his creations and some cry after they realize that Beetow has perfectly captured the essence of their deceased pets.
