What started out as a sad story ended with a very happy finale. Lauri da Costa of Passo Fundo, Brazil, a homeless man, was hospitalized after being hit in the face with a rock.
While the hit to the face could have just been an unfortunately event, doctors treating his wound discovered melanoma which they removed.
Not only did Lauri da Costa receive life saving surgery, but his loyal dog, Seco, waiting outside of the hospital for eight days.
Staff members brought the patient pooch food and water and after more than a week, the man and his dog were reunited.
