Let's be honest, it's always more fun dressing up with someone. Especially if you're dressing up for Halloween, cosplay, or a costume party, and not some fancy gala. The hard part is figuring out a creative two-person costume that will make you the life of the party. Well, we're here to help!
Ranging from spooky to cute, funny to somber, these two-person costumes will surely land you in first place at any costume contest.
You've Got A Friend In Me
What says best friends forever better than Buzz Lightyear and Woody? Nothing! These two ladies know how to get into the Halloween spirit, and if you can't tell by their huge smiles, it's by channeling their inner childhood and living out Toy Story in real life.
I wonder if they'd drop to the ground if we yell, "Andy's coming!" Something to keep in mind if you want to duplicate this look. Which we highly recommend doing!
NomNomNomNom
Since Halloween is partially about gathering all of the sweets you can, what better way to start the evening than becoming a sweet and someone who eats them? Not to mention these do-it-yourself costumes will be super easy to assemble!
Shop your local Hot Topic for the Cookie Monster hat and the clothing can all be found at Target - spots are sold separately. Talk about a money-saving ensemble!
Cricky!
If you didn't read "crickey" in an Australian accent, more specifically Steve Irwin's accent, you're lying. Regardless, we love this homage to the late Crocodile Hunter! The girl in this duo 100% got the better of the two costumes. I mean, who wouldn't want to wear a crocodile onesie all evening? That sounds like a dream!
The best part about this costume is that it's so easy to include friends. There must be somewhere to buy various exotic animal onesies.
You Can Fly!
This two-person costume is bound to win you some costume contests. I will bet money that no one else will think to dress up as a shadow, let alone Peter Pan's shadow. Everything is in the details of this costume, right down to the little Tinker Bell on non-shadow Peter Pan's belt. Adorable.
If you're thinking about this getup, make sure you have a friend who is cool with wearing tights and full-body spray paint.
"Let's Build Some Happy Little Trees."
Nothing says fun like Bob Ross and a happy little tree. If you have one day out of the year to be anyone you want, Bob Ross is definitely the way to go. And if you have someone to be a happy little tree, fluffy cloud, or little bird, then you are set!
If you really want to make people jealous about your costume, maybe grab some friends and have everyone become one of Ross's "happy little creations."
Jack And Jill Look To Regret Going Up That Hill
I think Jack took the nursery rhyme a bit too seriously, not that it matters because he's rocking the paper crown. Everything about this costume screams funny with a hint of morbid. Their bucket is mangled, and they went as far as to put dried blood and grass stains on their skin and clothing.
These two went the extra mile with their creativity! Hopefully, they keep those facial expressions all night! They speak wonders.
Crocks 4 Lyfe
So these two won at life and will never have to worry about starting a conversation on Halloween night. Can we also talk about how the crocks are wearing crocks? Genius.
Your shopping list is as follows: their template, a boatload of black tape, a hot glue gun, at least a mile or two of cardboard, and black paint. So go grab the left foot to your right, because nothing says besties like walking through life as a crock.
From Point A To Point B
There are a few things to love about this costume. First, it's completely homemade, meaning it is cheap and comfortable (well, at least the clothing). Second, it's so original. Personally, I've never seen a Google Maps costume before, and I would be super excited to see these two out!
All they need now is a friend to be a little blue dot that follows them around. Needless to say, they have zero excuses if they get lost.
Expecto Patronum!
Welcome home to Hogwarts! No time like the present to reveal your inner Harry Potter nerdiness. Especially if it allows you to show your patronus, and how easy these wizarding world costumes are. Nothing says costume party more than a fun, relevant outfit that everyone will adore.
Can we also say that the Luna costume behind the stag and Harry Potter is on point, right down to the crazy pink glasses? Well done, you three.
What The Sitch?
Time to channel your inner early-2000s child with this Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable ensemble. This costume is not only easy to put together, but it also makes us want to sit down in front of the TV and watch the crime-stopping cheerleader and her accident-prone best friend save the world from Dr. Drakken and Shego.
All these two are missing is a naked mole-rat and a weirdly high-tech phone for an early 2000s high schooler.
"Well, It's Finger Lickin' Good"
This is what we call partner costume commitment. Here's to hoping that feathery chicken costume is completely homemade because it is epic. Colonel Sanders probably could have scratched the chicken bucket with the live chicken standing right next to him though. It definitely gives the whole costume a somber feeling to it.
You know, because the Colonel's who livelihood revolves around fried chicken and all. This weirdly realistic getup is bound to turn some heads!
They're Creepy And They're Kooky
Let's all take a page out of one of our favorite Hollywood it couples, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner: you either go all beautiful emo-goth with the Adams Family, or you're not even trying to do the Adam's Family. Everything down to the props each of them has put the entire costume together.
There is no better way to embody Morticia and Gomez Adams then stone-cold expressions and headless roses, and maybe a pet hand on your shoulder.
Grease Is The Word
This might be your only chance to break out into "Grease Lightening" and have no one judge you for it. Granted I'd probably join in, but that's neither here nor there. It's time to bring forth your inner 1960s cool kid greaser with this Sandy and Danny duo costume.
Just be sure to pack on the gel, sly guy smirk and pretty girl smile, and lots and lots of hairspray. Oh, and don't forget Sandy's signature red pumps!
Double-Stuffed
The best part about this Oreo? It's double-stuffed! This pair got very creative and made a costume that people would, technically, have to figure out — A+ for brainpower. This duo is bound to get some people applauding their DYI costume.
I wonder if they would get upset if we used them as inspiration for other dessert costume ideas. Does anyone want to try a DYI banana split costume? It has the potential to work if you think outside the box!
I Guess This Is What It's Like To Be B-Spears and JT
These two were relationship goals for all pre-teens in the 90s and early 2000s, so this Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake 2001 American Music Awards look is bound to turn some heads. Although all-denim is coming back into style, the hat could probably be left at home...
Nevertheless, we love the creative aspect of this Halloween costume. I mean, it was one of the more memorable red carpet outfits ever!
Come Play With Us
Nothing says Halloween quite as much as the creepy Grady Twins from The Shinning. These two ladies have also given us major inspiration for scary dead people costumes, right down to the zombie eye makeup. We also love the spin they put on the costume, adding the blood splattering to the front of the dresses.
As long as they don't start saying, "Come play with us, Danny. Forever...and ever...and ever" in unison, we will all be okay!
As You Wish
You know you're jealous of this Princess Bride duo. Who doesn't want to be the "forbidden" couple of Westley and Buttercup? You get to wear medieval attire, say "as you wish" to anyone who asks you a question, and show off your beautiful counterpart all night.
Hey, that red dress could be used for multiple occasions, too! Holiday party, anyone? This costume is definitely in the running to win "most romantic" in any contest they enter.
Where Did You Get These Nice Things? Uh, The Internet?
We can't speak highly enough about this Cosmo and Wanda Fairly Oddparents costume. The creator of the Nickelodeon kids TV show, Butch Hartman, would be proud. Personally, I'm a huge fan of the floating crowns their sporting.
We hope you take some pointers from these two and understand that DYI costumes are always fantastic ideas. They even have a book of Da Rules! If that doesn't make you smile I'm not sure what will.
Prepare For Trouble Make It Double
It's hard to make a commitment to a costume, especially if a lot of work is involved. This Team Rocket outfit is the perfect mix between effort and low key. If you plan to be Jesse and James make sure you chant the Team Rocket motto at least once throughout the night, especially if you see Ash or Pikachu.
Now all they have to do is find a cat to be the trusty Meowth, and they're all set!
Strange Things, Indeed
What is more sinister then Eleven and a Demogorgon from Stranger Things? If you're looking for a fun DYI costume, look no further than this duo. The best part is that you now have an excuse to buy a huge 24-pack of Eggos!
All that needs to be done for this awesome coupling, is a bit of paper mache sculpting for the monster and then some paint. Eleven's outfit is easy, it's getting that glare down that's the hard part!
A Contestant And Guard On Squid Game
Are you ready to play a game this Halloween? Grab your best friend and dress as a guard and contestant from the popular Netflix series Squid Game. A huge phenomenon in the world of television, this is a great option for anyone looking to buddy up with costume ideas.
Not only that but both the green jumpsuit and red onesie look pretty comfortable!
