21-year-old student Godfrey Cuotto is being praised on Facebook for a simple act of compassion on a public bus.
Cuotto was riding on a bus in Hamilton, Ontario with a group of his friends when he comforted a distraught man with special needs, named Robert.
The Facebook page ‘Only in Hamilton’ shared the image above and one poster on the page wrote, “I would like to say thank you to the guy who was [sat] beside a special needs gentleman.”
“He allowed him to hold his hand and find comfort well in a packed bus.. It makes my day when I see stuff like that,” they added.
Cuotto told Kiss: “I was going home from a burrito place downtown with my boys, and this guy just grabs my hand.
“I thought ‘am I getting pranked or something?’…and he put his arm around me really tight. I stayed with him, held his hand.”
He added, “What am I going to do? Sometimes you just have to be selfless and put someone else’s needs above yours.”
Here’s the Facebook post that led to some special attention for the young compassionate man.
Robert’s family have contacted Cuotto to say thank you for helping him in his time of need.
