Internet dating is incredibly popular these days but it does come with some peril. Meeting someone on Tinder, Plenty of Fish, or other online or mobile dating sites is easy but oftentimes the date that shows up isn’t what was expected.
While some people lie about their looks, others are just plain creepy and perhaps even threatening.
In order to help their patrons, a bar in St. Petersburg, Florida called the Iberian Rooster came up with a drink called “angel shots.”
If a date isn’t going well the bar will help you get out of your date by ordering a single drink. How you order the drink depends on the actions taken by the bartender.
This isn’t the first time a bar has attempted to make sure women are safe on internet dates. A poster in the women’s restroom at a bar in England recently took a viral turn on social media with a similar idea.
The poster is England was created by a rape crisis support service and suggests women feeling uncomfortable “ask for Angela” in order to discreetly get help.
Other bars are taking the same steps to protect women from bad internet dates.

Angel shots are different because they alert the bartender to different levels of help. Order the drink neat and the bartender will walk you to your car. Order it on ice and they will call an Uber to take you home. Order a drink with lime and the bartender will call the police.
It’s a simple gesture but it could very well save a female customer from a very bad situation.
