Ruth Oosterman is a mommy blogger with a real eye for artistic creation. Recently she started to take her little girl’s creations, and update them with her own artistic edge.
On her page, The Mischievous Mommy, she displays her two-year-olds original art, and then offers a closer look at her updated version of that work. Ruth’s daughter creates the original art with an ink pen, and then Ruth updates each piece with watercolor painting.
As Ruth explains, she uses her daughters work to inspire her updated creations. On Bored Panda she writes:
“I try to work quickly and let imagination and play take root into the painting rather than taking it to seriously, this way I can encourage Eve’s contribution without making it to “grownup.” As Pablo Picasso said it can take “but a lifetime to paint like a child.” I feel so blessed that my daughter can remind me once again what it is to paint like a child by letting me see through her eyes.”
