This Cat Saved Her Pregnant Owner From A House Fire
The cat was called “timid” by her owners, but her attitude changed when she was needed the most.
Josh Ornberg and Letitia Kovalovsky had fallen asleep on the couch in their suburban Chicago home when a fire broke out in a back bedroom.
As the home started to fill with smoke it was Baby the cat who jumped on Ornberg and woke him up.
“It’s kind of embarrassing that I needed my cat to wake me up, but she was my fire detector,” Ornberg told PeoplePets.com. “She’s usually not a very social cat, but she jumped on my lap and was jumping around.”
Wonder Lake Fire Protection Assistant Chief Mike Weber called the cat a hero. “We don’t know what the outcome would have been if not for the cat.”
The couple was expecting twins at the time of the fire. Not only was the fire a threat, but smoke inhalation could have hurt the unborn children.
Great job kitty! The next four-legged friend recognized a seizure in their owner only hours after being adopted!
