89-year-old Fidencio Sanchez recently lost his only daughter and then his wife fell ill.

To support his family the resident of the Little Village area of Chicago was forced to push a popsicle cart on his own, raising a few dollars for every item sold.

Joel Cervantes Macias was driving in the Little Village area of Chicago when he saw the elderly man struggling to push the cart.

“It broke my heart seeing this man that should be enjoying retirement still working at this age,” wrote Macias.

He immediately bought 20 popsicles for $50 and told his friend Joe Loera about the man’s struggle. The two friends decided to raise $3,000 for Fidencio on popular campaign building website GoFundMe.
